Introduction to Fitness Tests:

A Fitness test, also known to as fitness evaluation or fitness assessment, is made up of a series of measurements that help determine the health status and physical fitness of an athlete.  Fitness tests can measure an athletes:

  • Agility
  • Balance
  • Cardiovascular Endurance
  • Coordination
  • Flexibility
  • Muscular Endurance
  • Power
  • Reaction time
  • Speed and
  • Strength

There are many different types of Fitness Tests and they are all used by a variety of different athletes. Football players, 100m Sprinters, Swimmers, Gymnasts etc. Each athlete needs a different skill set and each fitness test can improve them. Some athletes may even use a variety of fitness tests as they need to have a large range of fitness components so that their performance is at its peak.
